One major trend for this fall is shearling. Here are my top choices for outerwear. The three last items are basically vests and a pullover. Long vests are popular for this fall, and I will be writing about them soon. My favourite coats are the pink MSMG coat and the Rebecca Minkoff coat. Of course these items are expensive but the Mango cocoon coat looks great and it is more affordable.
Concerning Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire, some of the most liked characters are the Stark girls. A year ago I was scanning the Moments of Foreshadowing threads from Westeros.org, and I found a very strong piece of information concerning Littlefinger’s fall. However, I was not able to find this information again somehow, but bits of it. First, there is the song of the winter rose, which Ygritte sings to Jon in the second book, A Clash of Kings. It is about Bael the Bard, a King Beyond the Wall, and here is some information about him.
I also found this interesting link discussing the song of the winter rose, and establishing a parallel to the Tourney at Harrenhal in the year of the False Spring. It is very interesting that both stories are not told at Winterfell at all. The Tourney at Harrenhal will be discussed in the near future. However, both stories are about a Stark girl falling in love with a singer.
I believe that Bael the Bard story is more of a prophecy. In the books, the blue (winter) rose seems to be associated in most cases with a Stark maid, especially Lyanna Stark, who really liked them. However, there is also a very good theory that the blue winter rose is actually Jon Snow, something that will be discussed in a later post.
The song of the winter rose may also foreshadow the fall of Littlefinger by Sansa Stark. Here is a link discussing the parallels between Petyr Baelish and Bael the Bard. The OP (first poster) does a great job establishing them. Keep in mind that in the books Alayne Stone (Sansa Stark) is a bastard daughter of Petyr Baelish. She is a niece in the TV show.
Petyr Baelish the Bard(ish) and Other Character Parallels
Post #6 in this thread establishes the foreshadowing elements of Bael’s story with Baelish’s death. Trust this poster! He is a master of foreshadowing.
Foreshadowing for Baelish’s death
Here is a link discussing the same theory in association with the Tourney at Harrenhal. This post contains major spoilers, especially of the biggest secret of ASOIAF.
Parallels between the stories of Bael the Bard and the Tourney at Harrenhal
As mentioned by the poster, not all Targaryens inherit the purple eyes and the silver-blond hair. Baelor Breakspear was a Targaryen Crown Prince who took that looks of his Dornish mother. He appears in The Hedge Knight (Dunk and Egg Series).
If interested more about Sansa, Radio Westeros has a podcast dedicated to her. It is worth listening to it.
Next post will be about the last Outlander episode. Subsequently I will write about Arya’s plotline and Varamyr Sixskins.
