Cait’s Outfits

I usually do not write about news concerning the TV show or their actors on my blog. However, I would make an exception this time. As most of you have noticed I tend to write a lot about the books and my topics are thought-provoking. I have also written certain highlights of some Outlander episodes, and so far I cannot complain about the adaptation.

Lately I have seen Caitriona Balfe wearing very nice outfits to different award ceremonies. My favourite ones are the red jumpsuit she wore at the Elle’s Annual Women in Television Celebration and the orange Solace London dress she wore at the SAG Awards.

These are the reasons why I think these outfits really worked for her.

  1. By wearing a bright colour it is possible to get more attention. Everybody looks good in black. However, not everybody looks good in other colours. In the case of Cait, I like to see her in bright and bold colours that contrast her pale skin tone. Please note I am using the word “pale” in a good way. In fact, I like her skin tone since mine is not like that – my skin is a light-olive in the summer and whiter in the winter.
  2. In the case of the Solace London dress, she brought attention to the charity she supports, World Child Cancer, by wearing its colour, orange.
  3. She is still young and has a lean physique that allows her to wear those colours.
  4. It is a radical change from the dark outfits she usually wears.

I like Cait’s overall look at the SAG Awards. I like her hair down and straight, he naked neck, and the colour of the accessories, an orange-red that contrasts the orange of the dress. I do something similar with pinks and purples sometimes.

Here is the other look that I like. However, I would had removed the pretty necklace and use some bracelets instead. The loose hair makes it impossible to appreciate the necklace, and, of course, I prefer a naked neck: lean people have a very nice structure of the collar bones (clavicles).

This red jumpsuit is available at House of CB. Here is the outfit on their website. La Perla Red Stretch Crepe Strapless Jumpsuit. It would look nice also on somebody with an olive skin tone. She also wore a burgundy jumpsuit recently to another event. I also liked that one.

When it comes to bright colours, I am a big fan of them. I have been wearing them for a long time because they look good on my skin tone. I get tones of compliments too for wearing them. When it comes to black colour, I do agree that black is elegant and classic, and flattering for those ladies that have a little bit of extra pounds. I do buy dresses in black sometimes as long as their design is unique and cannot be found in any other colours. The interesting thing is that two people close to me express their opinions openly when I wear black. My husband usually has a tendency to ask me the following question: Where is the funeral? My mother dislikes seeing me in black. She loves to see me in vivid green colours (and of course, pink).
