Hello everybody,
Plaid seems to be everywhere this fall. Tartan / plaid patterns have always been found in cotton / flannel shirts, coats and maxi skirts. I am a big fan of maxi skirts with tartan prints, and I own two of them. I am in love with them because of their 90s vibe (they scream to me “Nevermind”). This year tartan patterns are found in almost every clothing item. For my previous post, I selected few shoes with plaid / tartan prints.
Plaids are found often in different styles of dresses. From left to right: Red Valentino, Marc by Marc Jacobs, street style picture, lower end brand dress (available at PixieMarket.com), and two dresses by Free People.
Here are few skirts. My first pick is the Jenni Kayne skirt. I love the colour and pattern of this skirt, and I found the cut / slit on the back unusual. My second pick is the McQ – Alexander McQueen skirt which I find very “functional”. It has a zipper that allows the wearer to either shorten or lengthen the skirt. I prefer midi or maxi skirts. Short plaid skirts give the wearer the look of a school girl (Catholic school uniform?), probably a look that most adult women and former Catholic school students would try to avoid. However, these two choices are not very friendly to my pocket.
Here are my top selections for a plaid coat. The Three Floor Coat, my first choice, is getting sold at a very fast pace.
Here are other clothing items that have a tartan print. My top choice is the plaid blouse because of its puffy shoulders, and the Madewell scarf because of its worn look. I also like the office outfit. It is something similar to what I used to wear back before I had my first kid and used to have a full-time job.
Next post will be coming shortly and it will be about jewelry (my new addiction).
